The Price May or May Not Be Right

Having signed up a while back for a website that provides tickets for TV shows, I've just received an invite onto The Price is Right, which is returning to (predictably) ITV in a few months time.

I can bring up to 20 people with me. Do you want to be one of that lucky number?

I'm not sure I'm going yet, but if people respond with extraordinary enthusiasm then I may as well.

Oh, be warned, it's now presented by Joe Pasquale!

Rocky VI Trailer - "Rocky Balboa"

Yep, one of the most surreal upcoming movies this year - the next and final chapter in the Rocky ... erm ... hexology.

Moseley Folk Festival - 2nd & 3rd September

The first weekend in September will bring with it the very first Moseley Village Folk Festival, much to the excitement of me.

As it's the first Moseley Folk Festival, I can't help but wonder what the above picture is of, as it can't be last year's.

It will be held in the bodacious Moseley Private Park (where I haven't been since 1993), and will be host to a fine selection of acts:

Saturday 2nd September

The Incredible String Band
Seth Lakeman"
Pentangle
Tunng
Findlay Brown
Steve Gibbons
Andy Votel
Scott Matthews
James Summerfield
Richard Burke
Mi & L'au
Robert Jesse and Simon Lord
The Destroyers
M-Craft

Sunday 3rd September

Hayseed Dixie (yes! Hayseed Dixie!)
John Renbourn
Robin Williamson
Nick Harper (who's great)
Circulus
Ben Calvert
Hellicar-Crago-Lewis Lloyd & Friends
Friends of the Stars
The Cosmic Charlies
The Toy Hearts
Biltone
Celtic Affair
Sam and the Plants
Mike Heron with Georgia

There will also be plenty of marquee cover, festival ale and organic scrumpy, farmers' market & craft stall, morrismen (??), knitting corner (for if you're naughty), carrom championship, creche, children's storytelling and a healing zone (just to remind you that you're in Moseley).

OK, so it's £25.50 for a day ticket, £38.50 for the whole weekend or £80 for a family of 2 adults and 2 under-12s, but it should be particular.

I know you'll come, James and others. Only a fool wouldn't...

Check out the website and stuff.

Fact of the Week!

Dogs have more chromosomes than humans (39 pairs versus our 23). That's why there much more variety of types of dog, all different sizes and "consistencies".

Cats however have only 19 pairs of chromosomes, which is why all domestic cats are basically the same size.

www.loose-change.org

So, I've been trying for ages to get my Loose Change website up and running. I've now finally sorted myself out with a logo (feel free to comment if you think it's crap or anything).

As you'll probably know, it's a website dedicated to spending addiction, shopping addiction, money management, debt, etc.

Now I just need to attract people to it, somehow! I did attract about 8, and was starting to get complete strangers signing up, but then I broke the site, had to start again from scratch, and lost them all! :(

My original idea was to have a site split into two parts: a forum and a place for articles and the such, but that's proving a little too challenging so I'm just going to go for a forum with the articles posted within it.

Let's hope the whole project doesn't fall now on its face due to resounding disinterest!

Which OS Are You?

You are Amiga OS. Ahead of your time. You keep a lot of balls in the air. If only your parents had given you more opportunities to succeed.

Hmmm...

Which File Extension Are You?

You are .rpm You have a nice package. You can be useful, but your many variations sometimes make you tough to find. You aren't apt to get jealous.

Weird quiz...

Hot!

It's soooo hot!

OK, I can't really tell from where I am right now, as my office building is air-conditioned throughout, and in fact if anything I'm a little cold, but it's soooo hot outside!

I'm surprised I was able to sleep last night. I had to open all the windows and doors in the flat and lie on top of my duvet, and I still baked. My flat seems to trap the heat in it - I'm not looking forward to getting home tonight.

Also, the mental thing is that tomorrow it's supposed to be even hotter! It's going to hit 35 degrees in Birmingham, and 36 in Bristol! Bogies!

OK, when I was in Cyprus it hit 40 degrees, and that's when I went a little mental, but still 35 is menkal for England - hotter than Ibiza! In fact, London will hit 37 degrees, which will be the hottest ever recorded in the UK.

So there!

Mozart's Wife

Ooh, look! They've uncovered a photo of Constance Weber, Mozart's wife!

OK, 'twas taken in 1840, 50 years after he died, but still, who'd have thought it possible?

You know, she seemed much less stoic in the film 'Amadeus'...

I've watched no less than 8 episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H.

How cool does that make me???
